Woody White

Woody White is an experienced courtroom attorney in North Carolina. As a former County Commissioner and NC State Senator, he understands the law, the legislative process, and the landscape facing business. For over 30 years in the courtroom, he has a record of winning, and has been recognized as an award winner by Business, North Carolina Magazine's Legal Elite in 2007 and 2010, 2021 and 2022. Woody has also acheived the highest rating of Preeminent AV, by Martindale Hubbell rating system. In 2012 and from 2017-2026, he was honored to receive the recognition from his peers, in earning a designation as a "SUPER LAWYER", awarded to less than 5% of attorneys, statewide. In December, 2012, Woody was the top vote getter in a 6 way election for New Hanover County Commission and was sworn in on December 2, 2012, to a four year term. From 2012 to 2014, Woody served as Chairman of the New Hanover County Commission. Re-elected in 2016, again with the most votes, Woody was selected to be Chairman again, and was at the helm as the region’s GenX crisis engulfed the community.He also skillfully led the County through Hurricane Florence in 2018, and was asked to represent the region on Cherry Point Marine Base at President Trump’s invitation.
