About William Smelko
I am a Chapter 11 Reorganization attorney and business litigation lawyer with a background in successfully reorganizing business entities and in representing institutional lenders and other creditors in prosecuting and defending various actions in Bankruptcy Courts throughout California, and as pro hac vice counsel, in Nevada, Arizona and Texas, as well. I teach Bankruptcy, Bankruptcy Procedure and Workouts, Collections and Foreclosures at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego and have had 35 years of trial and appellate experience in state and federal courts. I work as a volunteer debate coach with UC Berkeley and coach policy debate high school teams from San Dieguito Academy, La Costa Canyon HS and Canyon Crest Academy in San Diego.
