William Banowsky

For over thirty-eight years I have represented clients in disputes of all kinds in all kinds of forums from state courts to federal courts and arbitration. I am Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Trial Law and have been named one of the Best Lawyers in America and a Texas Super-Lawyer for over 20 years. My practice is concentrated in complex commercial disputes, health care fraud, contact disputes, business "divorces", a and lawsuits involving the buying and selling of securities. I have extensive experience in conducting internal corporate investigations involving numerous issues including accounting irregularities, healthcare fraud, and misconduct by officers of the company. For the first 25 years of my career, I typically represented defendants. But in the last ten years I have represented plaintiffs in commercial and fraud disputes where my team recovered over $110 million in settlements and judgments. Many of these cases were handled on a contingency fee basis. I am also involved in counseling companies in how to avoid litigation especially in the areas of corporate governance and planning of transactions. I also give advice on how to structure alternative dispute resolution provisions, such as arbitration, so that in the event a dispute arises in the future, my client has maximized its choice of forum.
