Walter Messenger

A proud citizen of central Ohio by way of Huntington, WV. I am a father. Most of my time is devoted to my family. When I am not at home I love to wine and dine at various fabulous restaurants and shops in the city. I also enjoy learning Portuguese so I can be more involved in the wonderful Brazilian community here in Columbus. I am a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Foundation, Columbus Bar Association, Columbus Bar Foundation, Ohio Association for Justice and American Immigration Lawyers Association. I volunteered many years at the Big Brother Big Sister Association of Franklin County. I currently volunteer at the Columbus Legal Aid and Operation Legal Help Ohio, an organization that assists veterans with various legal issues. Honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy. Member of VFW Post 4719 in Gahanna. I have over twenty years of experience trying cases throughout Ohio in civil and criminal courts. I have experience representing immigrants in immigration court, attend credible fear interviews and applying for various forms of immigration relief. I have valuable experience with legal research, writing and oral presentation before appellate and trial courts. I was approved as a board certified civil trial advocate with the National Board of Trial Advocacy. I belong to the Million Dollar Advocates Forum for resolving two cases for over $1,000,000 each. Recently, I received the annual 'heavy hitter" award from the Columbus Bar Foundation and Legal Aid Society for my work with veterans and low income tenants. For three years I was a member of Columbus's famous Harmony Project where we sing and provide valuable community service to the underprivileged. Lastly, I’m proud to boast that before my dad passed he poured the concrete steps at the Cabell County courthouse in Huntington, WV, a noble job for which I admire and that will provide justice for future generations.
