Virginia LoPreto

Ms. LoPreto is a matrimonial attorney with extensive trial experience complemented by her training in mediation, parent coordination and conflict resolution. These skills serve her clients well as she guides them successfully and passionately in complex financial and custody matters as well as in the defense of criminal charges which often accompany domestic relations matters. Ms. LoPreto's effective representation of parties in family and matrimonial disputes is widely recognized by her colleagues in the matrimonial bar as well as by the many clients she has represented over the course of more than 30 years. Her representation of children is all court-appointed and thus reflects the dedication and sensitivity that Ms. LoPreto has for families in crisis as well as the Courts' recognition of her invaluable service to children and families. Given her long-standing commitment to the practice of family law, Ms. LoPreto is regularly called upon to lecture on child-related issues and presents continuing legal education programs for members of several associations, including the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers-New York Chapter, New York Women's Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. She is a Past President of the New York Women's Bar Association and a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers-NY Chapter as well as a Member of its Board of Managers. Ms. LoPreto is also on the Board of the Judges and Lawyers Breast Cancer Alert, an organization dedicated to educating members of the legal profession and the public and to help those affected by breast cancer.
