Vanessa Hierbaum

Ms. Hierbaum’s practice includes all aspects of family law including the trial and settlement of marital dissolutions, spousal and child support, and complex and/or high asset characterization and division issues.Ms. Hierbaum has significant litigation and settlement experience in handling high conflict custody and time share/visitation disputes, including relocation issues, parental right termination and contested adoption proceedings, and cases involving domestic violence. Ms. Hierbaum also provides mediation consulting services, and drafts premarital, postnuptial and marital settlement agreements. Ms. Hierbaum’s practice includes probate and trust litigation and estate planning.Ms. Hierbaum serves as a Pro Tem Settlement Conference Judge for the San Francisco Superior Court, and she previously served on the Committee to Revise the Local Rules for the San Francisco County Superior Court Unified Family Court. Ms. Hierbaum is a Past President of the Board of Directors for Queen’s Bench, the Women’s Bar Association of the San Francisco Bay Area and previously served as First and Second Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. She also chaired its Domestic Violence Committee in 2008, 2010 and 2011. Ms. Hierbaum is a member of the Family Law Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco, and previously served as chair of the Barristers Club Family Law Section, a division of the San Francisco Bar Association comprised of attorneys in their first ten years of practice. Ms. Hierbaum has lectured for Golden Gate University, NBI and other organizations. Ms. Hierbaum was named a Northern California Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2009, 2010 and 2011, and a Super Lawyer in 2012 through 2017.
