Valerie Carpico

I support agencies and community-based organizations in planning and implementing initiatives that reduce recidivism, strengthen family engagement, and improve reentry outcomes. I collaborate with a wide range of partners and funders across both federally and non-federally supported projects. My expertise includes convening cross-sector leadership, developing strategic plans, and advancing efforts to strengthen criminal justice systems. Previously, I facilitated a local Reentry Coalition, bringing together community agencies to align goals and share resources. I also led the development of behavioral health programming within a county jail and served as the Stepping Up coordinator, setting new priorities focused on sober housing, improved jail screening practices, and crisis stabilization efforts. I hold a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Ohio University and an M.S. in Justice Administration from Tiffin University.
