Travis Pregent

My firm, Pregent Law, focuses on complex employee-side employment disputes and serious injury or wrongful death claims, on a contingent fee basis. I began my career as a human resources professional and went to law school at night while working as a consultant with Fidelity Investments. After law school, I worked for many years as a consultant with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where I focused on legal issues impacting the workplace. At MIT I learned the management-side of employment law and was responsible for investigating allegations of harassment and discrimination, managing MIT’s affirmative action program and ensuring that the Institute was in compliance with all applicable federal and state laws impacting the workplace. My human resources and management-side employment law knowledge and experience provided me with the ideal background to create my current law practice. Cases I’ve worked on in the past year include: • Settled a multi-plaintiff federal discrimination lawsuit against a national financial services institution. The case settled for multiple seven figures and will likely be one of the largest discrimination settlements in Massachusetts in 2022. • Represented the estate of a woman who died as the result of a negligently discharged firearm. This case received widespread media attention and resulted in an award in the multiple seven figures. • Represented the CEO of the American subsidiary of a multi-national corporation who was harassed by a manager, one of the senior most leaders in the parent corporation. • Represented several tenured professors against their university employer after being terminated in violation of their employment contracts. • Settled a large, pregnancy discrimination claim against a renowned pharmaceutical and biotechnology company. Consistently rated a Massachusetts “Super Lawyer” as well as a “Top Lawyer” by the American Society of Legal Advocates, I am also a member of the National Lawyers Guild (NLG), a national non-profit that provides legal assistance and technical support to immigrant communities, legal practitioners, and advocates. I am a member in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar and the United States District Court, and a member of the Boston Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, and Essex County Bar Association.
