About Timothy Slais
I graduated from University of Michigan in 1992 with a BA in Political Science. In 1995, I earned the title of State Trooper after graduating from the Michigan State Police Training Academy. I was assigned to the South Haven Post where I investigated traffic violations and criminal complaints. After being injured in the line of duty, I retired from the Michigan State Police in 2005, and went on to law school. In 2009, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in the top 3% of my class with a concentration in Litigation.After passing the State Bar exam, in 2010, I was hired as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney with the Berrien County Prosecutor's Office where I worked in the criminal division. I have tried several jury trials for misdemeanor and felony cases representing the interests of the State of Michigan. In January of 2015, I made the transition to private practice, and I opened my own law firm, Timothy A. Slais, Attorney at Law PLLC. Currently, it is a general practice firm with a concentration in Criminal Defense and Family Law.
