Suzanne Alpert

20+ years of experience practicing law in California, with a primary focus on Family Law. I provide legal representation to clients in court legal cases impacting the family structure, including divorce, legal separation, child custody, paternity actions, drafting Pre-Nuptial and Post-Nuptial Agreements, restraining orders, mediation, negotiating settlements between parties, conducting research and compiling evidence for each case. I started my career volunteering at Domestic Violence Clinics throughout Los Angeles County by providing free legal services and free legal representation to low-income victims of Domestic Violence who could not afford legal representation. I've gained extensive experience representing victims of Domestic Violence, in all aspects of their legal proceedings, including court representation and child custody. My focus as an attorney is not just obtaining a fair and favorable outcome for my clients but also to remain connected and sensitive to their emotional space through the legal process, to develop a legal strategy based on the unique set of facts of their particular case and to treat them as a person and not just a case and a tool for enriching my own financial status. As a complete contrast to Family Law, I worked as in-house legal counsel for an entertainment based non-profit organization in Los Angeles working with and in many local and other national nonprofit organizations serving underserved communities in the area of education, the arts and STEM.
