About Susan Connolly
Attorney Asselin-Connolly is nationally recognized in family law, most particularly with regards to issues affecting children. Recognition of her commitment particularly with regards to child related issues has been reflected bya. her appointment by the Hon. Governor John Rowland to the Connecticut Child Support Guidelines Commission,b. her appointment as a Director and Family Court Education Coordinator for “Take Root”; an Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention funded not for profit organization.c. being the recipient of multiple awards, including the prestigious C.B.A. “Citizen of the Law” Award for her work in Juvenile Justice and Education issues,d. most recently by the invitation for her to serve on the Steering Committee of the Connecticut Coalition for Justice in Education Funding (CCJEF), the plaintiff in a ground breaking lawsuit against the State of Connecticut to define “adequate funding” for public education. Attorney Asselin-Connolly has significant trial experience with respect to all aspects of dissolution of marriage, child custody, support, abuse and neglect, guardianship, and termination of parental rights proceedings. She is a lifetime member of Who’s Who in American Law. She was included within the Consumer Guide for Best Lawyers in America and also as Lead Counsel for Family Law. From the inception of her career as a family lawyer, the one constant has been her unwavering commitment to the rights of children. She is the founder of and continues to serve as Chair to the Committee of Counsel for Children. She is the co-founder of the Early Intervention Program, a program she designed and implemented to insulate children from the emotional trauma of custody litigation. In addition, she has worked tirelessly to effectuate a bridge between the educational system and the juvenile justice system.
