Steve Hernandez

I am Of Counsel in the Los Angeles office of DLA Piper, advising and defending clients in labor and employment in a broad range of industries. Having spent the first four years of my career at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and three years working at a successful plaintiff’s-side class action firm, I bring my clients a unique perspective. My non-traditional background allows me to understand cases from all angles and to provide my clients with practical advice to help them avoid litigation, where possible, and to achieve the best possible outcomes where litigation becomes necessary I advise clients in a broad range of industries, from production companies and studios to restaurants, concessionaires, warehouses, and trucking companies. My practice is devoted to assisting my clients with all manner of labor and employment related issues, including advising with respect to all areas of California employment law, union relations, and litigating individual and class action cases as well as before the NLRB. Outside of work, I spend as much time as possible with my wife and our five wonderful children (three girls and two boys). When not at tee-ball games, soccer games, or music recitals, we enjoy taking advantage of southern California’s mountains, beaches, and deserts, as well as cheering on our beloved Los Angeles Football Club. I am also a board member of Wayfinder Family Services (formerly the Junior Blind of America), a non-profit organization devoted to assisting individuals and families with profound special needs.
