Stephanie Cohen

Stephanie is the founder of Box Counsel, a strategic transactional entertainment law firm. The firm provides legal counsel and business consulting to creators, entrepreneurs, and companies in digital media, entertainment, lifestyle, and tech. Having built her career as both an attorney and advisor, Stephanie offers clients a wealth of knowledge and industry-leading expertise. Her unique understanding of digital-first, content-driven business, combined with 15+ years of experience in entertainment law, gives clients the competitive advantage to take their ambition to the next level. She provides counsel in contract negotiations, licensing, and media deals—as well as business development, strategic partnerships, and operations. Before founding Box Counsel, Stephanie was Executive VP of Business Affairs and Business Development for izo (formerly DanceOn), the largest entertainment network for music and dance across all digital platforms; she oversaw all legal transactions and managed relations with the network’s top-tier network talent. Prior to that, she was VP of Business Affairs and Acquisitions at Adconion Media Group (AMG), where she handled legal for the company’s branded content studio, Red Lever, and specialized in content acquisition for AMG. She was also VP of Business Affairs and Business Development at VOX Entertainment, a global branded events and marketing company. She started her legal career representing entertainment clients and handling litigation matters in private practice, at Liebman, Quigley, Sheppard, and Soulema. Stephanie received her JD from Southwestern School of Law; she received her BA from the University of Florida in Advertising. She is in good standing with the California bar, and is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles. Stephanie is passionately invested in the conversation around work and wellness. In 2018, she founded High Vibe Secret Society, for the business-minded and wellness-driven. HVSS most recently partnered with Julianne Hough's Canary House Productions to provide conversation and content to womxn in the entertainment industry. She’s also a certified Intuitive Eating facilitator. An avid yoga practitioner, Stephanie blends yoga and mindfulness into her daily life and such principles are paramount for her law practice as well. She currently resides in Los Angeles, with her husband and two daughters.
