About Stacy Chiang
I am a clinical psychologist providing culturally responsive, trauma-informed care for individuals navigating identity, migration, and major life transitions. I believe psychological well-being is shaped not only by personal experience, but also by family systems, culture, and the broader social context in which we live. Born in Taiwan and raised in the United States, my cross-cultural upbringing has shaped how I understand belonging, resilience, and intergenerational complexities. Before becoming a psychologist, I practiced law as an attorney licensed in New York and California. I worked closely with immigrant communities in private practice and as a pro bono attorney with the Asian Law Caucus. There I saw the life-changing impact of trauma, displacement, systemic barriers, and stigma — and the lack of mental health care that truly understood cultural and language differences. Those experiences led me to transition into psychology. I earned my doctoral degree through the PGSP–Stanford Psy.D. Consortium and completed clinical training in Veterans Affairs hospitals, community mental health clinics, primary care settings, and residential treatment programs. My clinical work integrates: ◆ Multicultural and trauma-informed care ◆ Psychological assessment ◆ Mindfulness-based approaches ◆ Mental health advocacy I have also published peer-reviewed research on help-seeking among Asian American adolescents experiencing psychological distress. Following my own fertility journey and transition into motherhood, my work expanded to focus on women’s mental health. I support women across life stages, including high-achieving professionals, mothers, and those navigating complex cultural expectations in: ✦ Strengthening their voice ✦ Setting clear, healthy boundaries ✦ Advocating for themselves with confidence ✦ Building relationships grounded in mutual respect and emotional well-being In therapy, I create a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where clients develop insight, resilience, and practical tools. My goal is to help individuals trust their own wisdom and move forward with greater clarity and confidence. I am authorized to practice psychotherapy in: ◆ New York ◆ California ◆ Hawaii ◆ Singapore (Member, Singapore Psychological Society) I provide individual and group therapy in English and Mandarin, with virtual sessions across the United States and in-person and virtual sessions in Singapore.
