About Samantha Shepherd
As Founder and Managing Attorney of Shepherd Elder Law Group, LLC, and President & CEO of Assured Trust Company, I’ve dedicated my legal career to supporting individuals and families navigating the complex challenges of aging, disability, and special needs planning. With a deep commitment to advocacy and compassion, I’ve helped over 8,000 clients protect their assets, access vital care, and plan for the future with confidence. My law practice focuses on Medicaid planning, estate planning, special needs trusts, and trust administration—areas where the law intersects with life in profound and often personal ways. I’m honored to serve in leadership roles within national and state elder law communities, including the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), where I’ve served on the National Board and been recognized by the Council of Advanced Practitioners. I’m also passionate about giving back through my nonprofit work, including founding the Heartland Special Needs Foundation. Whether I'm guiding families through life transitions, educating other attorneys, or advocating for more inclusive systems of care, my goal is simple: empower people to live with dignity, security, and peace of mind.
