Saman Ahmadpour

Sam Ahmadpour is a Los Angeles trial attorney whose career has played out on both sides of the courtroom. Before founding Ahmadpour Law in 2015, he spent nearly a decade as a Deputy District Attorney for the LA County DA's Office — the largest local prosecutor's office in the U.S. — where he tried over 50 cases to a jury, from misdemeanors to complex homicides and white-collar fraud, and served in the Sex Crimes Unit. In 2014, Mothers Against Drunk Driving named him LA County Prosecutor of the Year for his conviction in People v. Wilkins, a DUI murder case that drew national media coverage. He left the office with a official commendation and a working knowledge of how the state builds, charges, and tries its cases — and how to dismantle them. Today, Ahmadpour Law is a boutique criminal defense firm representing business owners, licensed professionals, corporations, athletes, recording artists, and public figures across Southern California. Ramirez on vacating murder convictions and juvenile resentencing; and a 2022 matter-of-first-impression motion under Penal Code § 688.5 that ended the LA City Attorney's practice of conditioning code-violation dismissals on payment of investigation costs.
