Russell Huegel

I have been practicing law since 1996 in the areas of family law civil litigation, criminal litigation, estates and wills including estate litigation, bankruptcy, municipal law and real estate. In 2008, I successfully ran for Council for the Borough of Fanwood. I presently serve as the Chairman of the Public Works Committee which is responsible for maintaining the public roads and other publicly owned properties within the Borough. In 2010, I helped spearhead an innovative program which utilized unemployed laborers for special projects within the Borough at a cost savings for the taxpayers. In 2011, I was humbled when I was re-elected with over 60% of the vote and was installed as Council President. In addition to chairing the Public Works Committee, he serves on the Public Safety Committee and the Administration and Finance Committee where he helps develop and implement an $8 million budget for the Borough. In 2011 I was selected by the Mayor to serve on the Shared Services Committee with Scotch Plains, New Jersey to explore, and if feasible, develop and implement a merger of the Fanwood and Scotch Plains Police Departments. If created, it would be the first of its kind in the State of New Jersey. I started my own practice in 2009 located in Iselin, New Jersey. In 2010 I was asked to join the New Jersey Supreme Court’s Ethics Committee for Union County. I represent a variety of clients including a number of small corporations including construction companies and restaurants, as well as individuals and their small businesses in the aforementioned areas.
