Robin Largent

Robin Largent has been lead defense counsel and appellate counsel for large and small California employers in litigation (and arbitration) ranging from individual discrimination and harassment claims to complex class and representative wage and hour actions. Largent also has an appellate practice, having substantial experience and success handling appeals, writ petitions, and amicus briefs in both state and federal court on issues such as class certification (particularly in the wage and hour arena), manageability and due process concerns associated with class action trials, exempt/non-exempt misclassification issues, wage and hour compliance, trade secret/unfair competition matters, and the scope of federal court jurisdiction under the Class Action Fairness Act. In addition to defending employers in court, Largent regularly counsels, advises, and trains California employers on issues of compliance with California and federal employment laws to assist them in adopting policies and practices that both reduce their risk of being sued and position them to successfully defend lawsuits they are unable to avoid. Largent’s primary compliance focus is in the areas of FMLA/CFRA, reasonable accommodation, FLSA and California wage and hour compliance, arbitration agreements, background checks and criminal history inquiries, and non-compete agreements. Largent served as Editor and the primary author of the California Labor & Employment Law Blog for the last decade.
