Robert Young

Mr. Young is a trial attorney who has achieved numerous successful results for clients in connection with complex litigation matters before state and federal courts and before arbitration panels nationwide. He has a particular focus on business and employment litigation, as well as intellectual property and institutional entertainment litigation.Before opening CYLG's offices in Raleigh and, most recently, in Los Angeles, Mr. Young was a partner with Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton in Los Angeles, and then a partner with Wyrick Robbins Yates & Ponton in Raleigh in their business litigation groups, respectively. He founded and served as Co-Chair of Sheppard Mullin's Sports Industry Team for several years before joining Wyrick Robbins, and he remains active in the entertainment industry. He has handled substantial matters for major motion picture studios, media and broadcasting companies, professional sports leagues and teams, and other businesses regarding various types of claims, including those involving intellectual property rights, motion picture and television distribution rights, profit participation and other accounting issues, copyright and idea submission, contractual disputes, securities laws and regulations, and complex due diligence analyses relating to large mergers and acquisitions. His clients have included The Walt Disney Company, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Viacom, Amgen, Inc., Prospect Mortgage, Inc., InterActiveCorp and Expedia.com, Overture Networks, Inc., Glykon Technologies, Dynegy, Inc., NRG Energy, Inc. and Northrop Grumman.
