About Robert Niesley
Rob represents contractors, hospitals and sureties on complex construction projects throughout the United States and internationally. Rob has specialized in construction law since 1987, when he started his legal practice. Having worked in the same field his entire career, Rob brings to the negotiation table or courtroom both expertise in construction law and practical business judgment that gets complex problems solved . Some of the industries largest contractors and sureties rely on Rob to first chair their complex litigation and negotiations in jurisdictions throughout the United States. As a Senior Partner at Watt Tieder, Rob's construction practice has a special emphasis on public construction with federal, state and local agencies. Rob has been named Chair Elect for the American Bar Association’s Fidelity and Surety Law Committee, a national organization promoting education and legal scholarship on fidelity, surety and construction law. Rob will serve as Chair for the 2027-2028 term.
