Comfortable in both the court room and board room, I also try cases representing individual and corporate clients. ♦ Human Resources ♦ As General Counsel at Nightingale I coordinated with the HR Director to negotiate and address EEO/labor matters. I individually overhauled/implemented critical non-compete contracts for 700+ employees in 11 states saving $50,000+ per employee/per year and drafting/managing self-insured medical employee plan. ♦ Litigation ♦ As former Deputy General Counsel for CNO I established the legal department. I personally the litigation case load for the parent organization and 20+ subsidiaries and created a nationwide network of outside counsel for various state legal actions. I have the expertise and network to successfully negate risks and prospective causes of action. ♦ Acquisition/Growth ♦ Partnering with the President, CFO and CAO, I performed the critical role of analyzing prospective acquisitions being fluent in evaluating /identifying critical factors in all legal, compliance, financial, human resource, customer service and real estate areas, building on my previous experience in the valuation of 40+ companies at CNO. ♦ Business Operations ♦ I continually developed best practices significantly negating losses and controlling costs,while increasing collections and tightening billing procedures, thus allowing Nightingale and CNO to increase revenues while streamlining costs. ♦ Industry Expertise ♦ I understand policies, procedures and requirements within the healthcare and insurance fields which assisted Nightingale and CNO in navigating the industry and regulatory environments. I personally researched, drafted and ensured acceptance of elder care, health, life and medical insurance policies.
