Robert Coughlin

Robert H. Coughlin, Jr. is an of counsel attorney with Towne Law Firm, P.C. and in addition maintains his own law practice. Mr. Coughlin began his career as a confidential law clerk to a New York State Supreme Court Justice shortly after law school. Mr. Coughlin went on to become a trial lawyer with an initial focus on commercial construction matters, later shifting his concentration to representing insurance carriers and their insureds as well as injured persons. He has been a litigator for over 35 years. Mr. Coughlin currently concentrates his practice in the area of civil litigation including commercial litigation involving landlord-tenant disputes, contract, construction, land disputes, negligence, serious personal injury, construction accidents, fire and explosions and products liability. He also serves as a consultant for applicants of Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) certifications, and assists them with appeals from denials of certification or recertification. He has been active in the New York State Bar Association serving on the Executive Committee of the Torts, Insurance Compensation Law Section and having served as that Section's Chair. He is a long-time volunteer with the American Red Cross serving in many capacities such as Shelter Manager and the Government Operations Liaison to Saratoga County. Mr. Coughlin is rated AV-Preeminent (the top rating) by Martindale-Hubbell with a 4.9/5.0 rating by fellow attorneys.
