As a bankruptcy law attorney, I handled initial consultations and intake with prospective clients. Regarding Chapter 13 cases, I drafted oppositions to Motions to Dismiss (both from Trustees and Creditors), Motions for Relief from the Automatic Stay, and Objections to Confirmation. This also sometimes involved negotiating with creditors and opposing counsel regarding settlements and stipulations, as well as litigating issues relating to dischargeability in adversary proceedings. In my family law practice, I reviewed financial documents and responded to discovery in high conflict cases. These would include business profit and loss statements, as well as retirement plans and pensions - usually with the help of a skilled accountant. Before COVID, I would appear in court several times a week for the law and motion calendar which addressed issues like child support, custody, and alimony. I also handled several trials each year, usually pertaining to property division and the valuation of a business.
