Richard Serafini

I have practiced law primarily in federal court for many years. My experience involves both government and private sector, including practicing with a major international law firm. I have conducted trials and litigation involving fraud, securities, bribery, financial issues, racketeering, money laundering, and asset forfeiture. Additionally, I have years of experience conducting and supervising investigations. I conducted and supervised investigations for the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and the United States Department of Justice while an attorney working in the service of the United States. These investigations were large-scale, significant, often multi-district and multi-agency, and sometimes international. After leaving government service, I continued conducting and supervising significant internal investigations while in private practice. These investigations often involved multiple law firms, accounting firms, and other investigative personnel. They were very high-stakes investigations often involving issues throughout the United States and internationally. In both the government and private sector positions I have had to work and communicate with individuals at the highest levels of government and industry. My experience of investigations and litigation has involved industries such as securities, insurance, education, local governments, health care, energy, and gaming and hospitality. I have managed large numbers of people with diverse backgrounds. Moreover, I have experience investigating and prosecuting bribery and conducting investigations based on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
