About Rachel Ullman
Rachel Ullman began practicing immigration law in 1988. During her first few years of working with immigrants she filed amnesty appeals and assisted immigrants in obtaining green cards based on employment and family relationships. For more than a decade she has been defending immigrants in immigration court, many of whom have been convicted of criminal offenses. She works closely with criminal defense attorneys to try to achieve immigration friendly results for her clients. Rachel often gives educational talks on the immigration consequences of criminal convictions. During the past few years Rachel has been helping children who entered the United States without a parent obtain legal permanent residence in the United States. She helps them apply for asylum and also Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. She also defends children in immigration court. Rachel provides pro bono legal services to children through Kids In Need of Defense. Rachel is an active member of the Bar Association of Montgomery County Maryland as well as the Maryland State Bar Association. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and has been a mentor to other attorneys for many years. In July 2013 Rachel opened The Law Office of Rachel S Ullman, PC., a Rockville, Maryland immigration firm located in the same building as the Bar Association of Montgomery County, Maryland. From 2005 until July 2013 Rachel practised immigration law with Yun Yang. In 2008 they formed the law firm of Yang & Ullman, PC in Silver Spring, Maryland.
