About Phyllis Kupferstein
Phyllis Kupferstein is an AV Preeminent rated litigator, arbitrator and mediator at Kupferstein Mediation and the AAA. Ms. Kupferstein concentrates on employment-related matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, ERISA, and wage and hour litigation. An active trial lawyer in state and federal courts, Ms. Kupferstein’s complex litigation experience encompasses consumer, securities and employment class actions, as well as qui tam matters. She has represented individual and corporate clients in a wide range of industries, including entertainment, health care, aerospace, construction and engineering, agriculture, and insurance. She has also represented various government contractors in proceedings before the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs.Ms. Kupferstein has been recognized among the top lawyers in the fields of employment and labor, employment litigation defense, and business litigation by the Southern California Super Lawyers. She has served on the Executive Committee of the Labor and Employment Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and is a past Chair of the LACBA delegation to the Conference of California Bar Associations, where she has also served as Chair. Prior to opening her own law firm, Ms. Kupferstein was a partner at Payne & Fears LLP and at McDermott Will & Emery LLP. She was a founding member and national director of employment litigation and counseling at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP. Ms. Kupferstein received her B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles and her J.D., cum laude, from Loyola Marymount University, where she was an Articles Editor for the Law Review.
