About Phoebe Yu
With over 20 years of experience in materials innovation, supply chain, and sustainability, I’ve dedicated my career to transforming the world’s relationship with textiles by advancing sustainable and regenerative materials. As Founder and CEO of ettitude, an award-winning eco-luxury lifestyle brand, I developed CleanBamboo®, a patented, regenerative fabric that offers a sustainable alternative to cotton, silk, and bamboo viscose. Since launching ettitude in 2014, I’ve led the company to achieve B Corp and Climate Neutral Certification, and recognition on the Inc. 5000 and Worth.com’s Most Impactful Companies lists. Building on this foundation, I co-founded and now lead PLNTmatter, a materials science company turning tree-free plant cellulose and agricultural waste into high-performance, low-impact materials through green chemistry and waste-free processes. My mission is to make regenerative materials innovation scalable, affordable, and uncompromising in quality. Named one of the 100 Most Influential Chinese by Forbes China (2023), I frequently speak on entrepreneurship, sustainability, and the future of materials, advocating for a circular, regenerative economy that redefines how we design, make, and live.
