About Phillip Maltin
I'm a partner of Raines Feldman, one of the state's litigation powerhouse business law firms, where I focus on employment and commercial law and litigation in the new and now growing Los Angeles office. I'm a former partner of Lathrop & Gage and Gordon & Rees, and a former prosecutor--but have a unique relationship with the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office permitting me to accept discrete assignments prosecuting crimes. I teach deposition skills and trial techniques in the Trial Advocacy Project, a trial-skills program for lawyers. Perhaps my most satisfying professional accomplishment, however, is that I created the READ System for effective questioning and deception detection, which I teach in workshops and seminars across North America and in England.
