I am a Partner at Leavengood, Dauval & Boyle, P.A. My practice pertains to all matters related to Business Litigation, Consumer Protection, Commercial Litigation, Insurance Claims & Disputes Defense, and Personal Injury. Currently, my responsibilities as Partner with Leavengood, Dauval & Boyle, P.A. include assisting developing & managing the practice areas of Insurance Claims & Disputes, Personal Injury, & Commercial Litigation. Furthermore, throughout my career as a civil litigator, I performed several training sessions for attorneys & staff regarding various legal issues such as; common civil procedure pitfalls, Florida case law updates & its practical application, both trial & negotiation techniques. My practice from 2015-2020 involved representing State Farm Mutual Ins. Co., Allstate Ins. Co., their subsidiaries, & their insureds in lawsuits arising from motor vehicle accidents, homeowners’ claims, subrogation rights, & windshield claims. I litigated 6 circuit civil jury trials, over 100 mediations, drafted & argued over 100 motions, & conducted over 200 depositions. I represented Allstate Insurance Company & their subsidiaries as the Plaintiff attorney in subrogation claims both pre-suit & in litigation. During my subrogation practice, I managed an active civil caseload of 300+ property damage, construction defect, negligent fire losses, products liability, & bodily injury cases in small claims, county, circuit courts throughout Florida. The remainder of my practice involved the defense of first & third-party automobile negligence personal injury suits in Pinellas, Pasco, Citrus, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Manatee, Polk, & Sarasota Counties. I efficiently & effectively defended an active civil caseload consisting of over 200 bodily injury, uninsured/underinsured, property damage, & windshield “glass” lawsuits. As a leader in the offices, I mentored attorneys regarding legal issues & the best practices to become an efficient, effective, & ethical attorney. I further assisted management by performing semi-annual file reviews to ensure compliance with internal protocols & assist in evolving litigation strategies to effectively & efficiently represent our clients. As a Pinellas County Assistant State Attorney from 2011-2015. I represented the People of the State of Florida in prosecuting thousands of misdemeanor and felony criminal cases at Grand Jury, advisories, arraignments, motion calendars, pre-trial calendars, jury and non-jury trials, and sentencing hearings. I litigated approximately 50 criminal jury trials during this period.
