I am a Certified Specialist in Criminal Law California Board of Legal Specialization, State Bar of California, and I was the Chairman of the Criminal Law Advisory Commission which is the Commission of the State Bar that administers the Specialization Program in Criminal Law. I have been Certified as a Specialist in Criminal Law since 1985. I have been lead counsel in 5 death-penalty jury trials to verdict and I have done over 300 jury trials in state and federal court. I have lectured on many subjects at the Annual Death Penalty Seminar in Monterey, California, and at seminars put on by the California Attorney's For Criminal Justice, and the Federal Bar Association. I am AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible rating for legal skills and ethics. I was appointed by the Judges of the United States District Court to serve on the Magistrate Merit Selection Committee that selects candidates to become federal magistrates.
