40 years plus experience in all aspects of criminal defense, felony, misdemeanors, state, local and federal cases., to include numerous jury trials. Specialist in reentry for formerly convicted persons. Prior positions include regional managing attorney for the Wisconsin Public Defender in 1990-1992; Chief Public Defender for Yellowstone County from 2003-2006. have successfully litigated two major state constitutional challenges in the Montana Supreme Court; State v. Rudy Stanko, 1998- led to abolition of Montana's " reasonable and prudent " speeding law; State v. Ber Yang, 2020, led to abolition of unjustly punitive mandatory drug fine law. Former two term board member of National Association Criminal Defense Attorneys, member of their Reentry Task Force, member of their Native American Justice Committee Secretary and Board member of LIFT, Inc, non profit disability entity serving Yellowstone County and Eastern Montana Former board member of Alternatives, Inc, Moss Mansion, HELP, Inc of Door County, WI, and Gibraltar Township Property Owners, Inc.
