About Paul Estuar
Paul is the Litigation Director of Asian Americans Advancing Justice Southern California (AJSOCAL), the nation's largest legal and civil rights organization for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. In this role, Paul navigates a range of litigation engagements and cases with significant impact for marginalized communities. Utilizing a deep toolkit of litigation resources and experience, Paul employs a range of creative approaches and solutions to develop successful and impactful litigation strategies that both benefit clients and their communities and act in alignment with AJSOCAL's mission.Previously, Paul was a Senior Attorney in LAFLA's Housing and Communities Workgroup, where he litigates slum housing and discrimination cases, including appeals. Prior to LAFLA, Paul was a partner in his own civil rights law firm (Litt, Estuar & Kitson LLP) where he was responsible for complex civil litigation in the areas of civil rights and class action law. He gained extensive experience in all aspects of pre-trial discovery and depositions. Capabilities include researching, pleading, and arguing law and motion matters, including injunctions, summary judgments, class certification and post-judgment motions. Experience briefing in appeals before state and federal courts in California, the 11th Circuit, the D.C. Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court, including oral argument before the Court of Appeal and the 9th Circuit.Specialties (current): civil rights litigation, class actions, fair housing, and appeals.
