With others, he founded the San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices of the 3000 lawyer global firm. Mr. Dawes was a former National Chair of the firm's Litigation Department and head of its Mergers and Acquisitions Litigation Group. His practice focused on solving business problems: complex business litigation, advice to boards of directors and committees of publicly and privately owned corporations and internal and regulatory investigations. He has counseled on corporate and securities matters, intellectual property disputes, governance, ERM, M&A and compensation issues, having represented clients in the computer, software, brokerage, automobile, banking, hotel, gaming, news, investment, electronics, communications, health care, biotechnology, real estate and energy industries.
