Patricia Cain

Patricia S. Cain chairs Neal Gerber Eisenberg’s Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Practice Group and is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Patty advises employers on a broad range of employee benefit matters, including counseling employers on the design, implementation and administration of broad-based pension and health care plans, executive compensation arrangements and early retirement programs. She represents clients in ruling requests and controversies before the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation. She also represents clients in litigation arising out of disputes involving benefit plans.Recent projects in which Patty has been involved include advising clients regarding the following areas:- Integration of benefit plans following a corporate acquisition- Fiduciary responsibilities with respect to benefit plans- Executive compensation programs, including deferred compensation and option plansPatty is a frequent speaker on benefit issues. Topics on which she has recently spoken include employer’s obligations under the HIPAA privacy rule and benefit issues in mergers and acquisitions.
