HIGH STAKES BUSINESS LITIGATION I regularly represent businesses and individuals in high-stakes and bet-the-company disputes. I take pride in protecting my clients from those would take advantage of them. Clients and opposing parties know that I am unafraid of taking any case to trial and that I achieve more favorable settlements as a result. WHITE COLLAR CRIMINAL DEFENSE I am often asked by individuals to defend them in investigations by federal, state, and local government authorities in relation to alleged criminal activity. My clients appreciate that I understand how to deal with law enforcement officials with tact while fiercely protecting my clients' interests. CIVIL RIGHTS I feel it is important to use my litigation skills to fulfill my oath as a member of the bar to uphold the values of the Constitution. I am frequently asked to participate in high-impact civil rights litigation by local and national civil rights groups. Our civil rights advocacy has been extensively profiled in local and national media, including National Public Radio, the New York Times, US News, the Los Angeles Times, the New Orleans Times-Picayune, and the Baton Rouge Advocate. TRIAL SUBSTITUTION I am frequently asked to take over trials or provide second opinions. My clients like that I quickly absorb key facts while developing previously unexplored legal theories. Many times, by pursuing these new legal theories, I have turned defendants into plaintiffs who are seeking recovery. I have had the honor of being invited to serve as a Visiting Faculty Member for the Trial Advocacy Workshop at my alma mater, Harvard Law School. APPEALS I have been asked to first chair and argue appeals. Judges, law school professors, and opposing counsel have favorably remarked on both my persuasive writing style and my strong oral advocacy.
