About Neil Klingshirn
Neil is a passionate advocate for individuals and companies in employment and business disputes. Throughout his career, Neil leveraged technology to the advantage of his clients. He champions their causes with a thirst for justice, a tireless work ethic, an eye for detail, and a pleasant, professional demeanor. Neil is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law, a Super Lawyer since 2005, and AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell since 1998. Professionally, he is a Member and past Chair of the Ohio State Bar Association's (OSBA) Labor and Employment Law Section, former Chair of the OSBA Midwest Labor Law Conference, and a former member of the OSBA Employment Law Specialty Certification Committee. In support of his employment law practice, Neil is a founding and current Board Member of Protecting Ohio's Employees. He is a Board Member of the Ohio Employment Lawyer' s Association and a member of the National Employment Lawyers' Association . Neil was a Law Journal Articles Editor and a founding Trustee of the Student Funded Fellowship at The Ohio State University College of Law. He graduated with Honors in Law, and is a member of the Order of the Coif. Neil was the Executive Director of Undergraduate Student Senate at Kent State University (i.e., student body president). He obtained a Bachelors of Science in Accounting in 1983, graduating summa cum laude with University Honors. KSU honored Neil as its 1983 Outstanding Senior of the Year. In his community, Neil is a Board member of the Battery Park Condominium Association. Previously, Neil served on the Community Legal Aid Board from 2011 - 2021. He lent his employment law expertise to the Hudson, Ohio Personnel Advisory & Appeals Board (i.e., the Civil Service Commission) from 1995 - 2010. Neil served as Finance Chair for the Hudson Local Schools' ballot levy in 1998, guided a complex land sale, rezoning and conservation easement to a successful conclusion for his church in 1995 , co-chaired a capital campaign for his church in 1994 and, in 1993, co-chaired the successful merger of the Village of Hudson and Hudson Township. Specialties: Litigating non-competition, discrimination and retaliation cases; negotiating severance agreements and employment contracts.
