Nathaniel Boulton

Former Senator Nate Boulton represented eastern Polk County (including east and north Des Moines, Pleasant Hill, Altoona, part of Ankeny) in the Iowa Senate and is continuing his work as an attorney and partner with Hedberg & Boulton, P.C. In the Iowa Senate, Nate was the Democratic Whip and serves as Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee. His other committees assignments include the Workforce (Labor), Agriculture, State Government, and Administrative Rules Review committees. He is also on the Justice Systems Appropriations subcommittee. Nate had practiced as an associate attorney for two years before being named a partner with the firm in 2007. He earned his law degree with Honors, as well as a Certificate of Legislative Practice, from Drake Law School in May of 2005 and was admitted to the bar in Iowa in September 2005. He also has a Master of of Public Administration degree from Drake University and a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in history and political science from Simpson College. He is a 1998 graduate of Columbus Community High School in Columbus Junction, Iowa. Nate Boulton practices in workers compensation, personal injury and labor law. Nate has served as a member of the Iowa Workers' Compensation Advisory Committee, the Iowa Association for Justice's Workers' Compensation Core Group and the Iowa State Bar Association's Workers' Compensation Section Council.
