About Monique Fierro
Monique has a longstanding history committed to doing pro bono and public interest work. At Stanford University, Monique dedicated her time to leading organizations raising awareness about teen relationship abuse and providing writing workshops to students in underserved communities. At Stanford Law School, Monique was the Vice President of Law Students for Reproductive Justice and volunteered with the Domestic Violence Pro Bono Project. Stanford Law School awarded her the Judge Thelton E. Henderson Prize for Outstanding Performance in the Community Law Clinic. She graduated with Pro Bono Distinction. After law school, Monique continued her public interest work with California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc. serving low income individuals in housing, public benefits, education and employment law. Since then Monique has expanded her civil litigation practice to focus on sex abuse, civil rights, personal injury, employment and education law. Litigating cases before state courts, federal courts and administrative agencies, Monique has secured millions of dollars for her clients. In her defense work, Monique has a successful history of securing dismissals and reducing liability for clients facing adverse litigation. Monique’s goal is to meet each client where they are and fight zealously until a just outcome is obtained. One of Monique's recent accomplishments includes securing a $6.8 million settlement on behalf of students with disabilities who were abused by their teacher in the case J.B. et al. v. Simi Valley Unified School District et al. Monique is a leader in the community and currently serves on the boards of California Women Lawyers, Women Lawyers of Ventura County, and the Ventura County Unity Bar.
