About Mollie McGraw
Mollie McGraw is an experienced trial attorney. She is licensed in New Mexico and Texas, though she limits her law practice to New Mexico. Ms. McGraw represents plaintiffs in civil litigation in state and federal courts in New Mexico, including personal injury, civil rights, medical malpractice, victims of crime and inadequate security cases, insurance bad faith and pharmaceutical negligence. Over the course of her career, she has obtained substantial verdicts and settlements for her clients. In 2015, she obtained a $12 million verdict for her clients in a wrongful death, inadequate security case. In 2017, Ms. McGraw obtained a $1.6 million verdict in federal court for her clients in a police brutality case. In 2019, she obtained a verdict and attorney fees for an insured against her own insurance company in New Mexico State Court. In 2023, McGraw obtained a $52 million verdict from an Albuquerque jury, along with Attorneys Ben Davis and Zackeree Kelin, in an insurance bad faith lawsuit Murphy v. Professional Underwriters Liability Insurance Company (PULIC), a subsidiary of The Doctors Company, on behalf of two families who lost their loved ones to the opioid crisis. In 2024, McGraw obtained a $44 million verdict from a federal jury in U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico, along with Attorney Shannon Kennedy, in T.R. v. Patrick Howard on behalf of her female client who was sexually groomed and sexually abused by her high school teacher and Future Farmers of America (FFA) advisor when she was 15- and 16-years old. Ms. McGraw was a partner in McGraw & Strickland, LLC for 10 years, until August 2021, when her former law partner was nominated by President Biden to serve as an Article III U.S. Federal District Judge for the District of New Mexico. Outside of her practice, Ms. McGraw is active in the legal community. She served as the 2020-2021 President of the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association (NMTLA), and is an active member of NMTLA's Board of Directors. Ms. McGraw also serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for Trial Guides, a publishing company that publishes books and educational materials to help civil plaintiff's lawyers win. She has served on the Board of Directors for Emerge New Mexico since 2022. Ms. McGraw holds bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and American History from Northwestern University (2001). She earned her Juris Doctorate from Baylor Law School (2006).
