I am a Partner with the law firm of Fisher Phillips. With the unique combination of over 25 years’ of experience in the areas of employment law and successful workforce business practices, I bring practical knowledge and experience to help businesses address numerous workplace issues. My practice includes advising and defending employers concerning claims of unlawful discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, breaches of contract, violations of leave and disability laws, wage and hour violations, unfair labor practice charges, ADA public accommodations and workplace safety violations. I also enjoy a strong employer advice practice that includes: state and national employee handbooks, policies, and procedures; workplace investigations; ADA compliance; human resource management and systems; supervisor training for employment and labor law compliance; multi-state employment applications, criminal background check compliance, and wage and hour audits. Prior to attending law school, I had a successful career in workforce development where I operated employment and training programs for a private non-profit corporation under contracts from the Department of Labor, the Washington State Department of Community, Trade, Economic Development, and the Department of Social and Health Services. My background in executive management and workforce development has yielded practical knowledge and experience in addressing numerous workplace issues. I have wide exposure to the challenges facing today's businesses and supervisors; ranging from compliance with state and federal employment requirements to hiring, training, evaluating, and retaining employees in an ever changing labor market.
