Michael Martin

My practice emphasizes civil litigation including commercial personal property and real property lease disputes; construction defect actions; commercial receivables and collections; and judgment enforcement. My practice also focuses on construction law issues. I review and draft commercial and residential construction agreements and assist contractors preserve their collection rights by preparing, filing and enforcing construction-related liens, bonds and stop notices. Additionally, I am experienced with resolving construction licensing issues and I represent general contractors, specialty contractors, heavy equipment lessors, and material suppliers in Federal and State Court litigation and in California State Licensing Board mediations and arbitrations. I am admitted to practice before all State and Federal courts in California. I am a member of the California State Bar, the American Bar Association and the Ventura County Bar Association (where I am a member of the Ventura County Trial Lawyers Association). I am active in the construction industry and currently serve as Legislative Committee Chair for the California Landscape Contractor’s Association (CLCA); Board Member for LandPac—the political actions committee for the CLCA; member of the Ventura County Contractors Association; and Membership Chair for the Board of Directors of the Channel Islands Chapter of the CLCA.
