Michael Cortina

I hold an AV rating with Marindale-Hubbell and am a partner with SmithAmundsen and act as co-chair of the firm's Financial Services Group focusing on commercial, banking, bankruptcy, and creditor's rights law. I represent banks in various types of litigation and transactional matters. Such litigation matters include, but are not limited to: uniform commercial code, automobile dealership cases, personal guaranties, foreclosures, check alterations, fraud, replevins, collections, bankruptcy, adversary proceedings and priority disputes. I also advise clients on operational matters, such as how to respond to subpoenas for a customer’s accounts, a non-wage garnishment of an account, or a federal grand jury subpoena for customer information. In addition I draft, edit, and review bank documents for all types of credits.
