About Melissa Goodstein
As a Collaborative Attorney and Mediator, I believe that those going through a difficult family transition can actually become empowered and lay the foundation for a new beginning. Since early in my legal career, I have found that divorce litigation can devastate families and so have continuously sought better ways to practice family law. My clients are ready to move on with their lives, but want to end their current relationship with integrity and start building a respectful relationship with their ex-spouse. HALLMARKS OF MY PROCESS ⎷ Starting out by listening and understanding what is most important to my clients, and then help them achieve a settlement that reflects their highest interests and protects their most important relationships. ⎷ Helping my clients focus on their legacy and begin life’s journey anew in a calm way. I believe that healing from the inside out is instrumental to achieving a “good” divorce and a peaceful transition to a new life. ⎷ Advocating mind-body healing techniques - chiropractic, yoga, massage, and meditation as well as nutrition, exercise, and therapy to help support my clients during the divorce process and family conflict. I am honored to serve as President of the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals (NYACP). In the 20 years that I have been a member, NYACP has enriched my collaborative law practice. I have built trust with like-minded NYACP members, including attorneys, mental health professionals, and financial professionals. We all treat our clients and each other with dignity and compassion and together have been able to meet the needs of families in conflict without needing court intervention. The result: A graceful and dignified process. I am honored to serve as President of the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals (NYACP).
