Matthew Passen

As a founding partner at Passen Powell Jenkins, I represent individuals and families in complex personal injury and wrongful death matters, including cases involving catastrophic injuries, medical negligence, and defective products. My practice is rooted in a commitment to justice, meticulous preparation, and a client-centered approach.​ Over the course of my career, I have secured multiple seven- and eight-figure verdicts and settlements, including a $24.6 million trucking settlement and a $10.9 million product liability jury verdict.​ I am honored to have been recognized by peers and legal organizations, including being named to the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin's "40 Under 40," and receiving accolades from Super Lawyers, Leading Lawyers, and the National Trial Lawyers.​ Beyond my legal practice, I am actively involved in the legal community, having served in leadership roles within the Chicago Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Foundation. I also contribute to various organizations dedicated to access to justice and support for individuals with disabilities.​ I hold a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, where I graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. I also earned a B.A. in Economics, magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan.​ Outside the courtroom, I enjoy staying physically active and spending quality time with my family.
