i help people end their marriage in a peaceful and respectful manner. through education, curiosity and respect, i create a safe space for people to address the legal, emotional and financial issues that arise when couples are facing a divorce. through a pledge not to go to court, an honest exchange of information, and a careful examination of the choices available, i help people find solutions that take into account the highest priorities of both parties. by acknowledging their most important needs and providing the legal education they need, i allow clients to retain control of costs and outcomes. i put to use my many years of family law courtroom experience to help people avoid the heartbreaking conflict, cost, and anxiety associated with traditional divorces. in addition to years of courtroom experience, i have been mediating divorces since 2000. i also have extensive experience working with collaborative divorce teams (lawyers, financial experts, and mental health professionals). in 2021 i was certified as a life coach. through the use of coaching approaches in mediation, i have been able to deepen my clients' experience and provide a wholistic approach to a challenging and multifaceted life event. although i am proud of the skill and experience i bring to help people end their marriages in a peaceful manner, i am also committed to helping people start their marriages well. i offer pre-marital coaching and education in the belief that starting a marriage off right, knowing so many of the pitfalls, and learning how to negotiate the difficult issues in a good way is the best way to avoid a divorce later in life! i am committed to reducing the money, time and energy that is currently being wasted through the traditional divorce process - both by preventing more divorces and through peaceful methods of ending marriages.
