Matthew Jones

Education: DePaul University, B.A., 2003, Michigan State College of Law, J.D. (Summa Cum Laude), 2006 Professional Organizations: Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association Languages: English and Spanish Background: Matt Jones was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, where he currently lives. In law school, he held various law clerk and summer associate positions focusing on litigation, including a summer law clerk position with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. In law school, Matt was awarded the Jurisprudence Achievement Award in the following courses: Torts, Contracts II, Criminal Law, Bankruptcy, Corporate Finance, and Family Law. Matt has been with the Law Office of James P. McHargue as an attorney since graduating from law school, and was made a partner in the firm in 2011. He has dedicated his professional life to fighting diligently for the rights of injured workers in Illinois. Throughout his career, he has repeatedly taken challenging cases to trial before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, forcing insurance companies to pay for lost time, medical benefits, and monetary awards in highly disputed claims.
