With a background that includes extensive trial experience, including tenure as a military prosecutor and significant private practice exposure with an established national firm, Matt applies a proven track record for securing successful outcomes to every phase of litigation, from pre-trial counseling to aggressive advocacy at trial. Matt was named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers (Southern California) in 2013 and selected to Super Lawyers (Southern California) for the years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. From 2001 to 2014, Matt served in the U.S. Army Reserves–first as a Bridge Crewmember (Combat Engineer) and most recently as a Judge Advocate General (JAG). From 2008 to 2009, Matt was deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he was awarded the Bronze Star. In addition to his criminal and civil litigation experience, Matt has handled numerous adverse administrative personnel actions and courts martial.
