About Matthew Cano
Matt Cano is a partner in the Austin, Texas office of Benjamin, Vana, Martinez & Cano, LLP. His practice emphasizes construction litigation, contract advice and negotiation, and general construction law. During his legal career, Mr. Cano has represented architects, engineers, and surveyors, owners, and contractors in contract, tort, and insurance defense matters. He earned his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1985, and his bachelor of arts in criminal justice from St. Edwards University in Austin in 1982. For the first 15 years of his practice he was in Corpus Christi, first with the City Attorney’s office and then with an insurance defense firm. He has been back in Austin since 2001. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas (Construction Law Section) and Austin Bar Association (Construction Law Section) and is a AAA certified arbitrator and mediator.
