About Mary Wedding
Mary Jo has represented numerous businesses, individuals and insurance companies in a wide variety of areas including construction accidents and defect claims, insurance coverage, insurance defense, motor vehicle liability, personal injury, premises lability, toxic torts, worker's compensation, and family law matters. She has successfully negotiated settlement prior to trial, obtained summary judgments, and obtained successful outcomes at the trial and appellate levels. Mary Jo was selected by her peers for inclusion in the 2023-2025 editions of The Best Lawyers in America. She is also a registered civil mediator. Mary Jo has served in leadership roles throughout her career. Most recently, her work with Ability Allies has transformed the structure of the Board of Directors, improved efficiency and effectiveness, and grown the board by way of diversity of talent and skill sets, as well as the operating budget over the last 4 years. Combining her interests in education and philanthropy, Mary Jo gladly devotes significant time to expand legal services and public education regarding attaining access to education for students with disabilities across the State of Indiana and to ensure financial viability of the organization. Mary Jo is also a trained Guardian ad Litem and has volunteered GAL services for Kids' Voice of Indiana. She has also volunteered for the Neighborhood Christina Legal Clinic, and the Indiana State Bar Foundation's "We the People" program. She has served on the Alpha Phi Association Board at DePauw University, and has contributed to a variety of school and faith community efforts over the years involving fundraising and programming. Mary Jo received her Bachelor of Arts degree in history from DePauw University and her Juris Doctor degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. She first practiced law with Norris Choplin Schroeder LLP and earned a role as partner within 6 years. She served in that role for 10 years before taking a break for family life. She returned to Norris Choplin Schroeder in 2016 in an "Of Counsel" role to allow committed continuance of community and family roles.
