About Martin Elmer
I have been practicing law for over 30 years in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin & Solano counties, with my office in Berkeley; with extensive trial and litigation experience. I am a certified family law specialist, certified by the board of specialization of the State Bar of California. I also serve as an arbitrator for cases that are referred by the courts and have served as a small claims judge. Thus, I know how judges look at cases that come before them, and I know how to effectively and efficiently tackle legal problems. I emphasize a common sense, solution oriented approach to legal problems, yet I can be an aggressive litigator when the need arises. I understand and appreciate that apart from the specific legal issues that come before me, each person needs to feel that I “get” their situation and their problems, and am willing to take the time to really listen to them.
